John Lavicka - owner and president of Dental Ceramics & The center at Dental Ceramics

John is the second generation owner and president of Dental Ceramics Inc, since 1988. In 2006, John founded The Center at Dental Ceramics, an AGD PACE certified facility designed to enable restorative dentists to achieve higher levels of success in clinical practice through lecture and hands-on programs. He has devoted more than 30 years to developing a dental laboratory that focuses on exceptional services - combining art, science and technology with personal attention and care. John Lavicka has been a certified lab technician for 47 years! That is 47 years of perfecting his skill. When John is not at the laboratory running the show, he enjoys time with his wife, Debbie, and his kids.

 

Timothy Reynolds - Director of Operations

Timothy Reynolds received his under graduate degree in Sustainable Energy Management from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. After entering the workforce and pursuing a career in Sustainable Construction, he made the decision to transition to the dental field. He began working for Dental Ceramics Inc in 2019 and currently serves as the Director of Operations for the lab. Tim has completed core curriculum for both the Pankey Institute and the Dawson academy and specializes in digital workflows. In his tenure at Dental Ceramics, Tim has become the de facto expert on digital comprehensive case planning and technical communication. Tim enjoys a busy life as an avid snowboarder, cyclist and chef with a love of sailing.

 

Dr. Kurt Doolin - Director of education & Course Director for Aesthetic Excellence 2.0

Kurt A. Doolin, DDS received his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Public Health from Michigan State University in 1979. He earned his dental degree from the University of Detroit in 1983 and completed a one year post-graduate residency at the University of California at San Francisco in 1984 with emphasis on oral medicine, oral surgery and anesthesia. Dr. Doolin completed training programs in oral implantology at both the Misch Implant Institute and the Pikos Implant Institute, becoming the leading Rochester, MI dental implant provider. He studied esthetic dentistry, TMJ/TMD diagnosis and treatment at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Dr. Doolin continues his learning with emphasis on surgical placement and restoration of dental implants, hard and soft tissue grafting, and complex restorative cases.

Dr. Doolin is the Director of Education at The Center and Course Director for the Aesthetic Excellence 2.0 courses. His goal as Director of Education is to give doctors relevant and exciting dental continuing education courses.

 
 
 

Dr. Rhys Spoor - Course Director for Aesthetic Excellence

Rhys Spoor, DDS, FAGD is an international expert in aesthetic and restorative dentistry. Dr. Spoor graduated from the University of Washington in 1983. He is a past Affiliate Associate Professor of the UW Dental School, a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and an Accredited Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. This accreditation is granted after rigorous exam and presentation of aesthetic clinical skills. Dr. Spoor is one of an elite group of dentists in the world to have achieved this accredited professional status. Since 1987, Dr. Spoor has had the privilege of instructing other dentists in the United States, Canada, and abroad. A recognized expert in dental and portrait photography, Dr. Spoor teaches advances clinical programs to practicing dentists in aesthetics and occlusion, and he continues to be sought out as a lecturer in the dental profession for his artistic abilities, creativity, and technical expertise.

 
 
 

Dr. James Harding - Course Director for Aesthetic Excellence 2.0

James Harding, DDS graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1988 with a degree in psychology and was on his way to graduate school when he received acceptance and a full scholarship to the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry which he completed in 1992. Shortly after graduation Dr. Harding started a scratch practice in Statesville, NC where he quickly discovered his passion for continuing dental education. He studied practice management at The Center for Professional Development under Michael Schuster and Jack King. In 1998 Dr. Harding moved to Vail, Colorado and started The Vail Valley Center for Aesthetic Dentistry. In 1999 he was offered a clinical instructor position at The Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and served in that capacity for the next 15 years. Dr. Harding was also a board member and president of The International Association of Comprehensive Aesthetic Dentistry. Dr. Harding currently owns and runs Harding Dental Group in Alamosa, Colorado. He is married to Lynda Harding and has two daughters who graduated from The University of North Carolina in the spring of 2023.
